I joined Carla and Sarah of Creative Reboot for a long and glorious conversation about what it actually looks like for neurodivergent entrepreneurs to run a business while dealing with executive dysfunction.

Four neurodivergent business owners. Two hours. Zero bullshit.

  • No time management hacks.
  • No colour coded miracle routines.
  • No pretending we are productivity machines.

Just real talk about how we get through the day without setting fire to our to-do lists or quietly dissolving under the weight of unfinished tasks.

Who is in the conversation?

Carla and Sarah of Creative Reboot pulled together a panel of four neurodivergent business owners:

  • Jenn Hume of Hell Yeah Tech (that’s me)

  • Elinor Trier (a friend of mine, see I have some)

  • Samantha de Mattos

  • Sarah Sovereign

What we were asked

Carla and Sarah asked us three deceptively simple questions.

Are you a planner or do you run on instinct?

What do you do when you absolutely cannot face the thing?

What tools or systems do you actually use that help?

What I shared

Planning makes my brain short circuit

I talked about why rigid planning often sends my brain into shutdown. Too many rules. Too many moving parts. The plan collapses the second reality hits.

What I do when executive function checks out

Sometimes the answer is rest. Sometimes it is lower the bar. Sometimes it is just stare at one task until I remember how to move again.

The tech I trust not to make things worse

I shared the tools I actually use in my own systems. The ones that support my brain rather than overwhelm it. No app shaming. No glittery dashboards. Just tech that works when I need it and stays quiet when I do not.

This is not a how-to guide

It is a loud, messy, honest conversation about working with the brain you have. And building systems that keep your business moving even when you feel like a pile of damp toast.

If you are tired of being told to colour code your calendar or drink more water when what you really need is a system that does not fall apart when your brain does, this is for you.

Listen to the episode

Put it on while you scrub the hob. Or doomscroll. Or stare into space, wondering how it is only Tuesday.

Hi, I’m Jenn

I’m the business strategist you call when the chaos needs to stop. I replace your messy, demanding business toddler with a system that brings in radically easier, predictable income.
